Germany is simply slow, it doesn't go deep in a worldwide crisis, it doesn't go high up in a worldwide boom. They are rather risk averse and security lovers. That's handicap in the boom and an advantage in the crisis. So in average everything is fine. Biggest problem is the leak of skilled people or people in general.

That's pretty much Nonsense. You don't take into consideration the German divide, beeing one part with US and one part with Russia. Developed relations cannot be diverted from one day to the next. Not following any wish from the US, is not at all any sign for "beeing against the US". That's stupid Black and white thinking. Among best friends, you don't always have to have the same opinion, otherwise this would be more a master-slave dependency. That's something Germany doesn't want and doesn't have.

@bryguy306 No, that's just the riskavoiding approach. Things can be fragile, as long as they don't break. The problem is only to deal with insecurity. Human body is fragile. Electricity is dangerous and fatal - but we learned to deal with it.

Workforce is not a problem, if at all relation from working to non-working population is. But this is changing worldwide, can be corrected by later retirement etc. A long term steady change, will always be perceived as a serious of short term serious of little shocks. If something cannot be solved in 5 minutes, but in 5 years, people get a headake, but thats just a fear of change in general. Something will change, people get used to it, and everything will be fine.

Why ? Is there any problem with missing energy ? The costs of nuclear energy only appear to be low, cause the costs of the nuclear garbage are not taken into consideration. And a devastated area, like the 100km² around Fukushima or Tchernobyl is kind of scary.

After 17 years, you don't "Promptly retire", people need a change and some new ideas.

There are just too many questions that can be asked and too many thinkable statistics. Not any can be done. Like there is no register on how much solar energy is produced. People produce it on their roof, they consume their energy, or save it in their car batteries; nobody notices.

Inflation only lowers the rate of savings. Only people with low income, who couldn't save, suffer now/ have to consume less. But your comment sounds more like you your are saying "You are fine, others are stupid".

The engineers forgot to make children. It's a very simple demografic problem.
