  2. Export is still better in Germany, and industries are more evenly distributed. There is not this one profitable spot producing 50% of wealth. Statistics of average is not showing that. And maybe Germans are used to pay higher taxes. You hit the 30% tax rate much faster, than in UK.

  3. It should make you feel priviliged. You are not poor enough for social help. How can this be a bad thing ? How about marrying. You double your income but stay in your appartment. Beeing single is the expensive thing.

  4.  @jamesrussell3436  but you talk about a good job in UK measure and high rent in London measures I guess. In London,as in NYC or Sydney, there are too many well paid people. It's a matter of population density. Jobs got denser than appartements. What if your company moves to Belfast or aberdeen. That's cheaper I guess. But you had to follow. It's not so much a matter for politics I think.

  9. Coastline is not important. It's actually meaningless. It's the checkpoints that are annoying. Bosnia could also declare it as transit area und do their checkpoints on the roads to the inner territorries, where is much less traffic, less people annoyed.

  12. Building bridges into this landscape, only for political reasons, not for traffic reasons, just to avoid border controls, is a pity. Fortunatly inside EU this is not necessary any more, otherwise we would have more of such a waste of ressources.
