Never ever felt the need for AMCA more than now. Some of most urgent required weapons for India: XR SAM, 200km range MLRS, AMCA, Astra MK2, Ghatak.

@saurabh6453 AMCA mk1 will come much earlier, Ghatak UAV too. AMCA metal cutting and material testing is being done, prototype assembly will begin soon. But we need them now.

@smartbuys3118 No need for Astra mk3 immidiately, we have the Meteor. Tejas MK2 won't be that important right now, Tejas mk1a in huge numbers will do. Tedbf too not required immidiately the Navy might get the super hornet. HGV is for big scale war, not small attacks like these.

@datoolz0 Their MLRS are capable of saturating S400s. Even if they can't it will be like using expensive S400s against cheap rockets. We need MLRS of atleast 150-200km range to be able to launch offensive counter attacks.

@saurabh6453 They have already procured Ge F414 engines to kick start the project. GE F414 can give 98x2=196kN thrust for AMCA. AMCA is lighter than F35 which has 190kN PW engine. Trust me that is enough for a 5th gen fighter.

@hunsgroover140 Mirage can't fire the Meteor. Unfortunately. India wanted them on the Tejas mk1 but MBDA refused, due Israeli tech in them.

@datoolz0 If we can't make MLRS, we should buy 2-3 regiments long range HIMARS from the US for deterrence. Pinaka and Smerch can do the medium range attacks. HIMARS will give use the extra range.

And Ukraine was always a rogue nation. It funded and armed terrorists in Pakistan against India. Which costed lives of many Indians. They cheered along to sanction India which caused almost a recession in an already poor India. They have been hostile to India forever. They deserve what they got. @datoolz0 No you are wrong. MLRS and rockets are future. China wishes to bleed its opponent of money rockets are the best way to do that. They can even carry nukes. And can act as deterrance. It's a risk everytime they fire it.
