  2. Philip Berthiaume Let's make this easy for you to understand Philip... Now think of a construction site to build a hamburger place. They tear down the old to make a new one that will be more profitable. Now, the employees will have to be laid off during construction. Many hundreds of thousands will it cost to tear down the old building, and the public will be without burgers during the construction. Now, the bums on the street say.. Look. Look at all the people losing their jobs. Tearing down a business never works. But, when it's built again. It sells TEN TIMES the amount of burgers and employs MANY MORE employees. Tarrifs don't work, because they were never applied and LEFT ON! And what happened? These countries sucked the wealth out of our country. Used predatory pricing to destroy the competition, and cost us millions of jobs. It MUST NOT BE ALLOWED to continue!

  4. Kal El NO QUESTION! And they can come back now, or come back later, but the days of politicians encouraging our industries to move, IS OVER. They'll face higher taxes, and higher tariffs. Less regulation, and better infrastructure. Just like the "experts" said Trump couldn't POSSIBLY win, they are wrong on this one too. Trump has dealt in business all his life. He knows what's going on, and the economy shows it.

  5. Philip Berthiaume I just don't agree. They cheat on trade. We take it to arbitration and it takes two years while they appeal. Then if they lose, they close shop, open under another name and start again. They use slave labor from N. Korea and dump it, and here's what you are missing. It NOT ONLY comes with the made in China label, but they trans ship it to other countries and it comes in as another countries steel. We are targeting steel because if the whole spectrum of products, this hurts them. It might be 2% to us, but a LOT more to them. And don't say that WE pay the Tarrifs. They pay it at the border. If they can't sell at the higher price, THEY eat the cost. If Americans paid, then why would they care? Right now Google the NEW STEEL PLANT that just opened in Ohio. A 500 million dollar investment DIRECTLY as a result of the Tarrifs. (they tell you that) and ANOTHER ONE is due to open in Texas. Again, the Tarrifs were never applied and LEFT ON LONG ENOUGH. These economists are the same experts that said Trumps tax plan could never work. We've seen the economy boom!

First It may be that Trump in his own "art of the deal" way is causing ulcers overseas and will get them to give in, even a little, and he'll crow that he went to bat for our steel and aluminum workers and WON. Time will tell how it works.. And second. I heard a talking head say something very clever.. It was in answering the following claim... The person insisted that Trumps economy was merely a continuation of Trumps job gains.. Now, the answer was this.... He said that had Trump came in and KEPT those policies, regulations, N. Korea approach, and people put in place by Obama, THEN you might have a point, but he abandoned ALL THAT for his own judgements. The tax cut, the deregulation, the personnel changes, all his. Therefore the 3%+ growth is his and not Obama's. I think this tariff business will prove to be the same. OK... That winds it up! Take care.
