  1. One part that I don't agree with Ekberg is his statement about the small farms. Those small farms ARE in countries which operate at a level barely enough to feed the country that they're in. Who feeds "the world"? Not small farms. It's big Ag in Russia, Australia, Brazil, and the USA. Who IMPORTS that grain? Everywhere that small farms exist! Sure, Japan has lots of rice farms. But how many mega tons do THEY export? Not much.
