  1. The dollar has always been, and always will be the most stable value as a currency. THAT is why countries prefer it. What has EVER stopped the EU from paying in Euros? NOTHING. Back when we were a major IMPORTER of oil, the petrodollar was important. Now, we are an EXPORTER of oil, and growing by leaps and bounds. The petrodollar is no longer a big issue.
