@PoliticalSci No Frank. Oba-mao passed an ILLEGAL mandate which (as ruled by the Supreme Court) FORCED people to buy insurance that they did not want. In effect the poor healthy, young were subsidizing the rich, sick, elderly. GOT THAT? We already have govrun Healthcare known as the VETERANS HOSPITALS which has been a catastrophe. We do not want this cancer spreading to the rest of the USA, just to please a few blood sucking leeches looking for a free ride. In addition to all that, communists like Bolshevik Bernie want health coverage FOR ALL. say that again.. FOR ALL.. That means illegal aliens are given free health coverage paid by the American public! You need insurance? YOU BUY your own insurance.

All that is required is LIFE SAVING treatments, and even then, an attempt is made to bill them. Go ahead. Go to the hospital, and see what the FIRST STEP is. It's an interview to ascertain your insurance, or credit card information. And you say it's a WHAAAAT? Very small part of our spending? It's bringing California to the brink of bankruptcy! Any state that decided to go it alone, and cover their non insured hospital patients, QUICKLY dropped the idea! Now,let me clue you in. Cosmetic surgery (not covered by insurance) has fallen dramatically over the last twenty years. Meanwhile, non elective, or emergency surgery has SKYROCKETED because Uncle Sam pays the bill through Medicare! When people have to pay themselves, they shop for better prices. Think CELLPHONE PLANS. While when someone else picks up the tab, there's no incentive to reduce costs. Finally, ILLEGAL aliens can come here to have babies, which makes them eligible for citizenship!! You'll have a FLOOD of immigrants from poor countries, with millions of unskilled, uneducated labor that will DESTROY job opportunities for African Americans and our entry level high school grads. If "we already pay" then why take away people's private plans? If according to Bolshevik Bernie, there's no difference, then why change?

@PoliticalSci No, the fire department is NOT FREE. Volunteer fire departments are, and your home insurance is higher as a result! Now, let me know when you can find a few VOLUNTEER doctors and surgeons! Yes, other countries have no/low cost Healthcare and there's MONTHS of waiting to get an appointment! They have a board set up that rations surgery, so they determine that YOUR GRANDMOTHER really doesn't need that heart valve replaced, since she's too old! Thousands come here to the USA to get those operations AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. Bernie knows nothing about economics, medicine, or Healthcare.

@persevere4 So, explain to me how offering FREE Healthcare brings the prices down, when you have MILLIONS of illegals flooding across the border to get in line IN FRONT OF YOU MR TAXPAYER?? How did Public Housing work for you? How are Public Schools working? How about NASA vs SPACEX? No, what you are doing is subsidizing POOR HEALTH.
