So your point is that our monarchs are distant and uncaring? We already knew that, look at all the other horrendous events they've stayed quiet on or even been complicit in.

If you think we gave other people the wheel, I'd question the value of that education they supposedly benefitted from.

@jimthompson9370 There's evidence of it from at least the 4th century CE.

@jimthompson9370 Excerpt from volume 50, issue 3, of the journal "Africa" which can be found on the Cambridge University press.

We didn't end the slave trade. We just stopped having slaves within Britain itself.

@Bungle-UK We also profited hugely from it and never actually addressed that fact when "ending" the slave trade (that actually continued but hey). Don't let facts get in the way of your bias.

@Bungle-UK Funnily enough, the two are linked.

@Bungle-UK Speaking of which, give me some insight into what you're doing to combat modern slavery.

@PaleSalad Nothing, personally. Wouldn't know where to start. But I'm not the one advocating that we ignore one issue in favour of another.

And the royals definitely had no idea what was happening and didn't profit from it

STOFFEL Different chap I'm afraid.

@jimthompson9370 Literally cited an academic journal that you could go and look up right now but apparently that's too obscure for you. And I know you didn't look on Wikipedia because guess what I used to point me towards the journal? So, your own question back at you; why are you telling such obvious lies?
1
@jimthompson9370 Yes, I did check. That's how come I gave you the specific volume and issue. Because I followed Wiki's citation to the source. I've stayed on topic. I cited you evidence that disproves your point and now you're throwing a paddy and refusing to acknowledge it. You're a moron, Jim.

@josefk332 Speaking of very uneducated people, you don't seem to have any actual idea of what you're talking about. Can you explain what yoyu mean by the "prevailing morality"? I don't think you can. Prove me wrong.
