@dresden5060 We say that in the UK? Where? I've never heard it said. Not sure what she's ever given to us, either. They're good at taking, those Windsors. Very bad at the whole giving back thing.
3
Do I? What did she actually achieve?
3
That one has been debunked. I've no love for the Windsors but let's keep the criticism rooted in fact.
2
That's rubbish. The Windsors haven't bought a scrap of stability to this country, no matter how much people like to repeat that lie. And continuity? As in having an unelected head of state? How is that in any way better?
2
@alfredestrada2729 Are you able to measure that? Widespread tourism wasn't a thing prior to her time on the throne. And plenty of European countries, like France, got rid of their monarchy but their palaces do better than ours when it comes to tourism.
2
Was she though? I know so many people keep repeating it but I don't see any evidence of it.
2
@Weaselszone We all have to deal with death and changing times, every single one of us. The only interest she had in politics was lobbying to further rig the game in her favour.

@romorobloxkalubi5372 I pay their wages, thank you very much. Me and every other working person in this country. The royals, on the other hand, do nothing of value. Maybe you should sit down.
1
@romorobloxkalubi5372 You must be a special kind of stupid if you think sticking the word "Royal" in front of something means that the royals had any hand in it. They haven't built a damn thing. You're clueless about UK society.
1
@romorobloxkalubi5372 Such as? Give me some examples.
1
You wanna learn a bit of that history before presuming that everyone in the UK feels any kind of bond to the Windsors...
1
@gnirolnamlerf593 This is a shit take. How did she "earn" her keep? What service did she do that was worth millions of pounds a year? And don't try that whole "well, footballers and singers get paid too much" shite, that's just what-about-ery. Yes, lots of jobs pay too much. But at least footballers and singers don't claim to have dedicated their life in service to the people of this country. Your entire argument is if footballers get paid that much then why shouldn't the queen. Why her? Why not the other commenter's dad? There is no substance to what you're saying at all.
1
Would'a been a real one-sided conversation...
1
Why? They're the ones responsible for this clusterfuck we're in.
1
No dirt? That's very naive. I think whenever you find a very, very wealthy person who has invested their efforts in making sure no-one can investigate their finances, you've found someone with a lot to hide.
1
*was best for themselves Fixed it for you.
1
@siouxsioux2725 What fantasy cloud are you living on? You're making shit up.
1
What a dumb thing to say. Clearly, you don't spend enough time actually listening to women or you'd hear plenty who are critical of her. She never stood up for anyone.
1
@BD4-ManchesterIsRed Oh sure, if someone opposes the monarchy it must mean they really hate themselves. Nothing at all to do with having no respect for a family of grifters that live a life of unearned luxury while the rest of us in the UK have to get by as best we can in an increasing impoverished and unstable society. No, you've definitely got it all figured out...
1
@BD4-ManchesterIsRed No argument or point to make, no facts or evidence to support you. You're just some kid, full of hot air, trying to wind people up. Enjoy the crushing depression that drives you to seek your jollies in this sad, pitiful manner.
1
@mctea2033 It's a valid question. What did Lizzie do for people that makes her worthy of all this?
1
@alfredestrada2729 And only three of those are European nations. Also, an "international" restaurant would be one found internationally, that is across many nations as opposed to exclusively within one. Kinda seems like, for everything you're saying, you don't actually know what you're talking about.
1
@Audacious.Winterhalter You're making a statement on behalf of the country. Yet you only speak for yourself. Most here won't miss her. Their lives will continue, unchanged by her passing. Also, greatest queen of all time? Highly debatable.
1
@shazanali692 History repeats.
1
You'll get over it. Pretty sure Lizzie will too.
1
Why not ask Andy? He'll look after them, no sweat.
1
@Jelly-hq7ug For someone who spent as much time with Epstein as he did, who knows how deep his depravity goes?
1
Inexplicable.
1
Not even close. Funnily enough, if you go to her memorial event you'll mostly find people who only have good things to say about her. Its very much an echo chamber. What about everyone else who isn't there?
1
@fossils-z9d He won't if he wants to keep going to his boxing gym.
1
@keifer7813 Stability is the one I keep hearing. Sure, you can look at every serious, destabilising event that's had lasting effects in this country over the last few decades, and you can note how she never did a damned thing about it. You could look at our current state, as a slowly collapsing former power, and question that. But no. Stability. Supposedly.
1
That's a load of guff, Rodney. What you're seeing, as an outsider, is just an image that British insitutions like to broadcast to the world. Everything you've just said proves you've fallen for it. Most of us couldn't give a fuck about the monarchy and we certainly don't look to those thieving, dishonest, incestous grifters for anything, least of all a sense of moral and family values. Screw your head on right.
1
Nothing to do with it being a savvy PR move...
