  1. I believe his comments about Mexican people do just that. Does he get himself out of it by tacking on "and some of them, I assume, are good people"? 'Cos that bit just sounds like weak-sauce, that's just a fancy way of saying "I'm not being racist, it's just that Mexicans are criminals and drug dealers."

  2. ***** I don't deny that rape happens full-stop. That's the point. Looking at one group of people and saying "Yep, that's where the rape and drugs and crime is coming from" is so counter-productive to societal growth. Especially when the country in question is one that owes everything it is to the principle of immigration and even more so when the person saying it is the President of said country. And by doing this, Trump is using racist attitudes to appeal to racist voters. He's being racist.
