Not the goverment's job to pay their bills? They're public sector workers. Who do you think pays them?

@twinks2. It's no good saying "live within your means" when government mismanagement of the economy has seen inflation skyrocket. They used to get a living wage, then their bosses mucked that up and now are refusing to make up the difference. So there's that argument dead in the water. Anecdotal evidence is, well, it's not. So there goes that one. And no, no-one is forcing them to stay in the job. What do you think happens if they all take your advice and leave? We don't have a healthcare service any more. Which means people can't get treatment, which means otherwise minor conditions escalate into more serious ones and that leaves other people unable to work, so it has a HUGE knock-on effect on our entire society if we don't have proper healthcare. So there's that dumb statement put to bed. Anything else to add?

@twinks2. Which is the fault of the government and a core part of why these strikes are happening. That's why we need to resolve this for the staff, because you only have to look at the US to see where privatisation leads.

@twinks2. Look at where the government sends our money. How much they pinch for themselves or funnel into business deals with their chums.

@twinks2. Nah, you're blaming the wrong person. Government takes the biggest slice and gives it to their corporate chums, then blame it on "the other", the outsider. They are useless, and corrupt, which is why we strike now to force their hand and we must vote them out at the next election.

We've seen how badly that works in the US. I think you'll find that a lot of people in this country will fight very hard to stop that happening.

@Matty-fl2tu Then don't be surprised when the same thing keeps happening over and over...

Take out the migrants and you lose a lot of NHS staff. One solution would be to try and raise both education standards and living standards. Trend seems to be that when people are better educated and have a good, stable standard of living then birth rates drop.
