The problem with anecdotal "evidence" of the NHS' failings, there's just as many personal stories of the NHS saving lives.

How have they proved that? One look at the US' system should tell you that privatisation should never be on the table.

Immigration is a big source of labour for the NHS so curbing that might not have the results you want. Less staff means more pressure on the service. As for "benefits", they don't mean anything if you can't afford to pay rent or put food on the table.

@IanLockerbie We DID pay for that stuff, because of government corruption. And is private the norm? Most EU countries have universal health care. Nor has being able to take your money elsewhere ever ensured the consumer gets a better service. It just makes companies spend more on marketing. We've got decades of seeing this in capitalism.

@IanLockerbie What would be more work, scrapping the NHS and trying to setup a new healthcare system or fixing what we've got, and what was working until irresponsible governments tried to sink it? Of those two options, which one sounds like it'd be more expensive?
