@sosig8332 What is it about stuff like the "Great Reset", that they're always "coming soon"? Seriously, it's been any day now for years.

That's a bit naive, as you're working on the basis that there's a point where the heads of this industry will think "I've got enough".
2
@firstname4865 Because we haven't addressed our rates of consumption.
2
@firstname4865 By... not consuming as much?
2
@KHETTIUS I detect a hint of sarcasm. What's your solution, then?
1
@UNIVERSAL-UR "Begun" and "started" mean the same thing.
1
@UNIVERSAL-UR And what can you tell us as a compulsive liar?
1
@UNIVERSAL-UR Nothing so weird as that, I dunno how fragile a snowflake you are but takes a bit more to hurt my feelings. No, I just have this weird tic where if I see someone obviously lying, I call it out.

@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885 Not the best example, as the moon exerts a measurable effect on us whether we choose to acknowledge it or not.
1
None of those three are climate scientists. Two are politicians, one is a middle class activist.
1
@UNIVERSAL-UR What "facts" have been proven wrong?
1
@UNIVERSAL-UR Let's not play 20 Questions. Cite the fact and show how it's been disproven. Remember, a tabloid headline or political soundbite doesn't constitute a scientific fact.
1
@UNIVERSAL-UR I asked a question, now I'm waiting for you to cite a scientific fact that you can supposedly disprove. If you want to play silly games with leading questions, try elsewhere. As it is, just makes it look like you haven't got an argument.
1
@UNIVERSAL-UR I'm not struggling to answer it, I'm outright ignoring it because it's a daft leading question and because no scientist has ever stated anything as simple as "we will be under water". Whereas you're struggling to provide a single example of a scientific fact that you believe has been disproven.
1
@UNIVERSAL-UR Are you running on a script? Were you unable to read my last comment?
1
No, if humans weren't governed by self-interest and short sighted greed then they might take such measures.
1
@carlgoring2330 Because the amount of gases expelled by volcanic eruption is sustainable, funnily enough. Its releasing trapped CO2 from over millenia in the space of a couple centuries.
1
@russellmania5349 The "great reset" is a delusion held by boring people because it makes them feel interesting.
1
@firstname4865 Bit of a stupid response, don't you think? It's about cutting the unnecessary. As I'm sure you considered, having a phone and an Internet connection are annoyingly necessary in the modern world. Doing bank transfers, paying council tax etc, all online or via an app. What we CAN do is stop buying things we don't need. Walking, when reasonable, instead of driving. Turning heating down, or all the way off if you can. That'd be a more sensible suggestion...
1
@firstname4865 Not sure how you reached that conclusion. Could it be that you're just here to be a contrarian?
1
@russellmania5349 How about them?
1
@firstname4865 Is that all you've got to fall back on?
1
@andrewsmith3613 Actions which include cutting resource consumption, since those will get increasingly more scarce and continuing current rate of consumption will only exacerbate, not mitigate.
