Using salt water to put out wildfires would have to be some kind of desperate last-ditch effort, as the long term damage could easily be worse.

 @amira3650 Normally they'd be hot and humid. We're experiencing rapid climate change as a result of human activity. Now their summer is hot and dry, creating ideal situations for wildfires.
