Comments by "Django" (@django3422) on "‘I live off £30 a month’: Nearly 4 million people in UK experienced ‘destitution’ last year" video.
@dottieland7061 No, you don't know. So what are you doing by making this comment?

It's not always pride or shame. It can often be fear. When you feel like you're already teetering on the brink, the fear of asking for help and being turned away is very real and very palpable.
19
There's also a bunch of studies that have shown its far more cost effective to house and feed people than it is to pay for the long term consequences of having swathes of society in poverty.
19
@JupiterThunder This is just straight-up lies.
10
Your show of compassion falls woefully short when you can't extend that same understanding and empathy to people trying to escape worse conditions around the world.
7
@GavinGas There's nothing "cringe" about people showing compassion. Little wannabe edgelords, on the other hand...
6
@kevinsyd2012 Source?
3
@MCDONALD6969 To stop having public services cut to the bone, stop stagnant wages while the upper crust increase theirs exponentially and stop treating housing like a commodity to the point where its becoming increasingly unavailable.
3
@CatherineX-ph3on Not everyone has your circumstances. Damn, get over yourself.
2
@l_m9494 Just inventing hypothetical people to be angry about, then?
2
@jak4403 Source?
2
I'm a single chap so I don't struggle with food costs to the same extent families do. Doesn't mean I haven't felt the impact, though. £30 used to fill my cupboards for a month, now that's weekly.
2
@GavinGas You don't know anything. So you can be safely ignored.
2
Housing and feeding everyone in the world is both correct and selfish. I don't understand why so many knuckle draggers reject this obvious truth in favour of unthinking cruelty.
2
@GavinGas Get a job and practice what you preach.
2
@Ananta-n7w Living for a society means caring for one another. It means if someone drops the ball and hangs someone else, such as their children, out to dry then we, collectively, should be helping support them. Otherwise we're just abandoning vulnerable people to a cruel and cut-throat world.
2
@Ananta-n7w I dunno where you got that from my statement. Explain.
2
@nudisco300 Yet another moron raging against hypothetical people that exist only in their head...
1
@Skrrrt-z6u I dunno, they might not be far off. A close friend of mine works for DWP and he's pretty much in the same boat as me; getting by but only just.
1
@Skrrrt-z6u Airtight reasoning...
1
@Skrrrt-z6u Depends on the claimant. I think you've oversimplified the initial comment.
1
@Skrrrt-z6u You might need to re-read some comments. Seems you've gotten rather mixed up.
1
@l_m9494 About hypothetical people? Yeah, you definitely identified the "angry" part as being the primary issue...
1
@l_m9494 I'm starting to think you don't know what hypothetical means.
1
@l_m9494 No fear, I'll definitely continue to think you have no idea what you're talking about.
1
@aiglonducal314 You're not very funny.
1
@Michael-tb6ri Monkeys on tricycles. But you'll find none of that here.
1
@GavinGas Not everyone. Just you. Because you don't know anything. And if you understood anything about what the character of Luffy stood for, you wouldn't make such crass comments. Jog on.
1
It's impossible to understand for you because you're not trying to consider other people's lived experience.
1
@pm2886 You have a strange notion of relevant. Yeah, never mind the broken system that leaves people struggling, just cram more bodies into a space and never mind the deleterious effect that has on people. Which, from a pragmatic point of view, helps no-one and is counter productive. What kind of servile idiot are you?
1
@idharudhar5985 I work full-time and I'm on £1,600 per month. Because late-stage capitalism.
1
@MCDONALD6969 You've clearly never done a physical job like warehouse work.
1
The vast majority of people who work hard for their money are still struggling so you might be surprised.
1
@petertownley7296 Society benefits when it's people are housed and fed. That includes you. So why the hostility?
1
@TomorrowWeLive Certainly didn't fight for a poxy little fash whelp like you.
