  2.  @scotttyler1880  I'm not saying that "western media" is particuarly trustworthy, though that is a broad term. Nor am I pretending that Zelensky is a saint. He's a politician, he's hardly gonna be squeaky clean. I'd take him over Putin any day though. To get to the heart of what happened in Ukraine that led to the present situation, I'd advise looking up the activities of a certain "Paul Manafort". The podcast, Behind The Bastards, which is researched and presented by a journalist named Robert Evans (look him up, real interesting guy) has a whole couple episodes devoted to the man. It might not answer all your questions but it does help explain the earlier conflict in Ukraine, who was behind it and why.
