  2. Except Stalin was an authoritarian fascist of a different stripe. The Red Army didn't stop fascism, they changed its management. The problem you're gonna have, Anya, is that people outside of Russia get a much fuller picture of history. Which makes your propaganda pretty ineffective.

The question I posed is more of a rhetorical device. If you're gonna contrast Putin with other leaders, you should really demonstrate that a reasonable contrast can actually be made.
