  3.  @stephenobrien5909  Ask an Irish meteorologist if tornadoes are common and they'll say, emphatically, "no". The British Isles are right on the very edge of the Atlantic ocean and tornadoes are very uncommon, let alone ones that aren't highly localised and incredibly short lived.

A 100% increase is something that both climatological and meteorologists will be looking at with considerable concern. I doubt they share your breezy indifference but, then again, they also don't share your complete ignorance. There's probably a link.
