  34. That's a lie. FIRE investigated free-speech on Twitter since Musk's takeover and found that Musk's own views were prioritised, while those he disagreed with or were critical of him were hidden. He's also been found to acquiesce to government censorship of journalists, the complete opposite of what he claims to stand for.

Musk suspended numerous journalist accounts, without any initial explanation. It was later found that all were journalists who had been critical of Musk in their writing. He has banned or throttled links to competitor sites, such as Mastodon, Instagram or Substack. Tweets about Ukraine are downranked by the site. Tweets containing words such as "trans", "gay" or "bisexual" get hidden from view, even if sent via a direct message. Meanwhile, Musk's own tweets are boosted and prominently appear on user's timelines regardless of whether or not they follow him. That's not an environment of free speech, that's an environment of approved speech according to Musk. But it gets worse. Under Musk, Twitter withheld access to tweets from an Indian journalist in response to "legal demand" from the Indian government. Not just in India but globally. Even if you live in a country with free speech protections, you could not see them. So he's letting a government enforce their censorship via Twitter.
