These guys are TV personalities, not really a fair comparison.

@AA-dy3qw Read the headline of this piece back to me.

Why are you so angered by people wanting cleaner waterways?
2
@skinz138 Any excuse to avoid answering a question, huh?
2
Who comes to mind for you when you think "comedian"?
2
You're right. They should'a got that other chap who looks like him, wossname, Alan Partridge.
2
People who've had very successful careers as professional comedians... yeah, you're probably right.
2
@privatechannel8462 The word you're looking for is "likewise". Though it still amounts to nothing more than "no, u". If that's your level, your views on comedy are more understandable. Maybe next time we can ask them to do "the wheels on the bus".
2
@privatechannel8462 So because you don't find them funny, that means they're not? Whoever told you that every opinion is valid lied to you. Steve Coogan's never made me laugh either. Difference between you and me, in that regard, is I'm not so daft or arrogant to dismiss the man's decades-long comedy career on my personal taste alone.
2
... they're up there advocating for cleaning the lake up and ending the pollution. Not sure what part of the stick you've grabbed.

What an odd view to take.

@johnorchard4 So it's just bitterness then. I applaud anyone who's been working to combat this issue. I know how frustrating it is to put in the work and see it washed away by people's indifference to the issue. Apathy is one of our greatest enemies. So it seems odd to see momentum begin to gather and, instead of supporting it and helping it grow so that the issue can be tackled more effectively, you sneer at it. Seems counter-productive to say the least. Would you rather this protest didn't get any media attention?
1
@johnorchard4 No-one paying attention to the news thinks this is the only severely polluted body of water in the country, on account of how its been a big story for quote a while now. It is a complaint and I maintain that its a complaint borne out of bitterness, for the sake of complaining, because your whole justification there is nonsense. But hey, maybe someone will give you the attention you crave if you keep complaining and undermining efforts.
1
@johnorchard4 And you can keep lying to yourself if you want.
1
@johnorchard4 No, because what you're saying and what you're claiming don't line up.
1
@johnorchard4 Sure.
1
This isn't here to satisfy your kinks.
1
@PurpleFezz What are you trying to say?
1
The UK is far more than just the middle class.
1
@smellslikethinice1107 And that supports you blaming the entire nation, does it?
1
@smellslikethinice1107 Sounds like broad generalisations based on nothing, simply trying to shift the blame from corrupt politicians and greedy companies onto ignorant citizens.
1
That's not a very scientific question. What does the sewage contain, how big is the body of water, does it make a difference if the water has different mineral levels. And this piece is about bringing this issue to people's attention. We don't need a scientific report to know this is something we need to remedy.
1
More and more people ever day. You're one of the increasingly-dwindling amount who prefer apathy. If I were you, I just wouldn't bother at all.
1
@remainertears You have no idea what other people think or what motivates them. On the other hand, you're telling us quite a bit about yourself right now.
1
They could, but then what's gonna happen when several tons of pressure builds up behind it?
1
@Wang_Monkey That's not where the explosion will occur.
1
@Wang_Monkey My point is, it'd do more damage to the land as it'd cause a rupture somewhere in system. But that rupture would, I think, inevitably happen closer to the output than the input, since pressure would start building at the former.
1
@Wang_Monkey That's fair, its just very hard to tell these days. A comment on our society, not on yourself.
1
Silly comment.
1
How is that going to have any effect? You don't have to pay to walk down the canal towpath or along a riverbank.
1
@privatechannel8462 I'm saying it doesn't matter what you'd call them.
1
Don't worry about making sense. It's cool.
