Yes, they are. Fascism isn't a type of government, it's a viral social/political ideology. It's based around extreme nationalism, veneration of the individual/elite (so they love stuff like caste systems) and uses demonisation of the other as a way to push their narrative. The US Republican party started out fascist, got a bit better and are now going back to it.

@Historia.Magistra.Vitae. To be blunt, you sound like you have a very narrow and oversimplified idea of what fascism is. I saw elsewhere you insisted it hasn't existed since WW2. That's grossly inaccurate. I'd suggest looking up the work of Robert Evans.

Your definition doesn't understand that fascism isn't a form of governance but a viral social ideology with roots that go back to the beginning of recorded history and doesn't adequately express fascisms reliance on ultra-nationalism or the dehumanisation of the "other". Where did you learn this "historical definition" that is so lacking in basic historical context and understanding?
