@celticandproud1 Tell that to all the victims of systematic abuse by the Catholic Church. If your god exists, he would have intervened. If he chose not to, he's not worthy of worship.

@HarunalRashide123 If he exists and chooses not to help, that should tell you he ain't worth respecting. If you see a child playing by a river, they fall in, the current is pulling them away... do you not act? When grieving parents ask you why you did not help, do you tell them their child had free will? Pretty sure Jesus didn't preach "look out for thyself and thyself alone; people have free will so leave them to it"...

@HarunalRashide123 Okay, look after each other and be righteous. Good rules for life. So what can we make of it when a supposed god can't be held to the same standard? Not just the Catholic idea of god but any notion of a major deity. Why should we accept that excuse for their inaction, their lack of love or righteousness? Either they are cruel and undeserving of us or they simply never existed at all.
