@garyt123 I think their point is more that in no way can Sunak substantiate his claim that its the will of the people. Criticism of as populist referendum is fair. If there had been one on this issue, Sunak would at least have some basis for his claim. But he doesn't even have that.

Yes and we're talking about the party that came out with homelessness being a choice. They're not interested in helping anyone but themselves.

@johncorrigan2942 Can you give at least one example?

@bearsbreeches Look at the profile, as well. Account only 1 month old and this is their first engagement on this channel. To me, that raises a couple of flags.

You're not British either, though.

It'll be a cold day in hell before Nationalists are allowed to raise a flag over English soil. That is a promise.

@christophersmith8990I'd say they're flirting on the fringes of being "far" right. But they are undeniably shifting further and further to the right from their initial centre-right position.
1
@christophersmith8990 What's that got to do with whether they're right wing or not?

What does "integration" mean to you, though? It's quite a subjective term, in this context.

And I think that, while there will always be exceptions, most people would rather stay closer to home. I don't think that's a radical observation. Many Brits do and it's not inherently tied to any kind of nationalism. So I wish the "Little Englanders" would consider this, factor it in when judging anyone coming here and have some empathy. How would they feel if circumstances far outside their power to control left them with no choice but to leave the land of their birth? I'd be devastated. But you do what you must to get by. I'd like to see a more humane process for bringing migrants into our society that doesn't create a terrible social divide or result in wasted resources. That's what the Tories have done. In an ideal world, I'd like to see nations helping each other and building each other up. And then maybe this wouldn't be such a matter of course.

@alst4817 Have you got evidence for that claim? It also doesn't address moun's points at all.
1
@alst4817 That wasn't my point. Where did I say anything resembling that? You are claiming that she's given herself the title and even "wrote her own Wikipedia page" with no supporting evidence. The only point I made is that your unsubstantiated accusation does nothing to address the valid points raised by the other commenter. And you've still not addressed those points. So have you got anything to back up what you're saying?
1
@alst4817 I already have done. She's spent her adult life to date (about 17 years) working in various different fields directly involved in migration. Are you saying that 17 years of working in a field doesn't give one a degree of expertise in said field? Maybe you wouldn't. After all, your response on the Elon Musk point shows you really don't understand what's being said to you.

Easy to say when you've lived a life of safety and relative luxury.

@harrietkinloch7451 I live in an apartment block mostly populated by migrants. They're fine, no better or worse than any Brits I've lived alongside. And I know your life, like mine, has been a relative cakewalk compared to what most people around the world have to go through. Congratulations, you won the birth place lottery.

@harrietkinloch7451 When you've got no argument left, just resort to lazy propaganda...

@mr.thegreat557 In what way does that sound like fascism?
1
@mr.thegreat557 I'd like you to explain it. If you know, it should be easy for you.
1
@mr.thegreat557 No, you can't. You know you can't. And that's why you're being such a coward right now.

Because the wealth is not distributed fairly. Its hoarded by a tiny number of people, leaving the rest of us to make do with the scraps.
