What massive increase in false accusations? Citation needed.

You're living on another planet, chap. Do you wanna have a quick check as to who is in government?
1
How many? A tiny amount. You can look it up. We're talking single digits percentage.
1
Even more reason to be angry and to speak out about it.

Anyone claiming to be a victim should be treated as a victim unless and until there is evidence showing otherwise. If someone has been falsely AND maliciously accused, they should be treated as a victim upon the point that such falsehood and malice is proven. Happy?

@flabbybum9562 So if you accused me of something, and I countered by saying it was a false allegation, what happens then? It's not a double standard at all, it's simply being reasonable. I can prove it, give us a hypothetical scenario and let's resolve it.
1
@flabbybum9562 So your issue is in treating a victim like a victim?
1
@flabbybum9562 But they aren't. They're treated as the accused. They're only treated as guilty after due process.
1
@flabbybum9562 But they are not treated as guilty until due process is carried out. They're not denied anything. Whereas it's been shown many, many, MANY times that not taking rape claims seriously results in less people coming forward with their claims. One is your perception, the other is objectively bad for society.
1
@flabbybum9562 I'm not seeing your distinction.
1
@flabbybum9562 So you think it better to treat all people with cynicism and doubt until proven otherwise? And to be clear, there's no issue with the legal process, you just don't like someone being called a victim unless you can be immediately assured that they actually are?
1
@flabbybum9562 Ironically, what you're arguing for goes directly against the principle behind "innocent until proven guilty" since you're saying that a person claiming to be a victim must be treated as a potential liar until its "obvious" that they aren't. Given the complexities of the legal system, that's basically until a verdict has been reached in a criminal system and, even then, its not 100% from a purely objective, fact based approach. Whereas the accused must be treated as innocent until its obvious they aren't. Does this make sense to you? Does that seem fair? And I'd love to know what basic rights and protections people won 800 years ago...
1
@flabbybum9562 I wasn't talking about how we currently operate. I'm trying to understand what you're arguing for. Was I wrong in my interpretation? Feel free to correct me. But it seems like you're somewhat trying to evade that by moving the focus.
1
@flabbybum9562 Demonstrably not true, never a good idea to be dishonest about a debate when there's a written record of it.
1
@flabbybum9562 That doesn't make much sense.
1
@flabbybum9562 I'm not having trouble with any of it. It's just a childish "I know you are but what am I" comment. And you're moving further away from anything worthwhile, unless you actually want to explain why you think my interpretation of your argument is wrong, we're done.

Claims made without evidence. You know the rates have actually decreased recently? If your claims were true, why is that?
