I am Taiwanese, ALSO Chinese. That's what it says on our passport as our nationality. "Republic of CHINA." If we are not Chinese, then why do we need to talk about "independence" ?

@makeyourealise8996 Wrong. Ukraine formally declared independence on August 24th 1991. On what date did Taiwan declare independence? Get your facts right.

@makeyourealise8996 If you don't understand facts about Taiwan (not story), I suggest you do research and learn. Don't mix facts and fiction together and turn it into a story you call "logic."

@trajhenkhet02 Wrong. If what you are saying is true, then why did the US (who claimed to support self-determination of any nation) not recognize the PRC as China from 1949-1971? The PRC had their own leader, government, military, currency, 95% of Chinese territories and a population of 300+ million Chinese inhabitants yet the US (later rest of the world) refused to recognize the PRC as China and gave it to CKS of the ROC who claimed only 5% of Chinese territory Taiwan yet he refused to declare Taiwan as independent from China. What you are spewing is the Western narrative to suit their interests when I am simply stating objective facts without any bias. All of the issues would have resolved itself had the US stay true to its own "world-view" of supporting self-determination except they only do things when it suit their interests at the time. I never said "I want to join China." I was born in the ROC and will stay a citizen of the ROC until that's changed. Until then, I am not going to brainwash myself with narratives that make no sense. You can allow yorself to agree with mainstream media headlines but that don't mean I need to be like you.

@trajhenkhet02 Talking about the HK issue. Do you know what triggered the HK riot? If so, let us know.

@fkoff7649 I said you CAN'T READ. YOU JUST PROVED TO ME YOU CAN'T READ. TAIWAN'S LEGAL NAME IS REPUBLIC OF CHINA. "CHINA." CAN YOU READ??

@fkoff7649 CAN'T YOU READ? I AM FROM THE ROC. WHOEVER YOU ARE.

@fkoff7649 I was born in Taiwan island 9th generation and who are YOU again?

@trajhenkhet02 What you need to understand is BOTH the PROC and the ROC are Chinese territories with those at the top fighting for the emperor seat since there can only be one. It's always been that way for thousands of years. Even in the ROC (Taiwan) our president has two (imperial) "Jade seals" that were brought over from the mainland. No, we are not a "real vibrant" democracy and a country of "rule of law." That's just what the West likes to say to make you and I think "China" and "Taiwan" are different when it's really the "PROC" and the "ROC." We (ROC) still have a long way to go. Until then I am not going to prented everything is sunshine and roses.
