  1. You can use a ball bearing with a flat micrometer to measure a bearing's thickness, just accurately measure the ball bearing first, then subtract that from your measurement.

  2. @TucsonDude  a ball bearing is perfectly round, what are you talking about? Plus you measure the ball bearing then take that measurement into account when taking your final measurements.
