Just put all of your faith on Jesus, that's all God asks of us.   13. @HittoBeeto  no, repent does not mean turn away from your sins. The word repent simply means turn or change, the word's definition has nothing to do with sin. God repents more than anyone else in the Bible, He has no sin. That fact alone should tell you that repent can have nothing to do with turning from sin. Eternal salvation is a one time free GIFT from God to whosoever believes on the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus paid the price for our salvation in full with His death, burial and resurrection, our works have absolutely nothing to do with obtaining salvation. Actually, the phrase repent from your sins cannot be found once in the entire Bible when talking about obtaining salvation. Gifts are not paid for by the person receiving the gift, you did not physically do anything the first time you were born and you do not physically do anything when you are born again. As soon as someone sincerely calls out to God for salvation thru Jesus Christ, that person is instantly saved, born again into God's eternal family. Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ is the only requirement for obtaining salvation, John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

  15. @HittoBeeto  the book of John, is a book that claims to be written specifically to get non-believers saved. Yet the word repent can not be found one time in the entire book of John. The word believe however is mentioned over 90 times in the book of John. Eternal salvation is a one time free GIFT, paid for by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. Jesus Christ tells us that even the thought of foolishness is sin, there's no way anyone could possibly turn from all sin. Jesus paid the price for all sin, so what sin could possibly send you to hell, He paid for them all. That's the good news, God is not looking for reasons to send people to hell, He literally sacrificed His only begotten Son just to save us.
