When gas skyrockets by 150% in one year, that is the root cause of inflation. Absolutely everything is shipped using some type of gasoline. The US was energy independent as of Dec 2020, now we are buying oil from Russia. It cost $10 per barrel to ship crude oil across the country by pipeline, it is now costing us $45 to ship that same barrel by train. Still going across the country just in a different way smh.

Exactly, we were energy independent as if December 2020. It costs $10 to ship crude by pipeline, it's now costing $45 to do it by railway. A 150% increase in gas prices is killing the economy and the people making these ridiculous decisions know this.

@doujinflip that is only one cause for inflation, the inflation we see today is caused by the 170% increase in gas prices! Everything you buy got to where you buy it from by the trucking industry, those trucks run on diesel fuel! I work in logistics and the inflation we are experiencing today is a direct result of the increased cost of shipping.

@wakannnai1 wrong, the stooges in DC cut oil production and shut down pipelines coming from Canada. It has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the "free market", the US was exporting oil in 2020. You do not jump in price by 150% in less than a year because of the market.
