Comments by "Andrew Sainsbury" (@andyinsuffolk) on "Would you put your savings into a fund that financed the NHS?" video.
The basic problem is not funding it is incompetence/self-interest/poor focus etct etc. It would be criminal to double the NHS funding because of the drag it would cause on the rest of society. Wealth/resources do not appear spontaneously, even with MMT, if we allow inefficiency the least prosperous pay the biggest consequences (until we really have abundancy). Richard keeps confusing ideology & wishful thinking with reality.

@pipobscure - Yes Tax simplification should be a priority - the arguments for complexity never bear examination - they are all about political & other special interests rather than the general good. The idea that somebody who makes a living from their labour being penalised in comparison to their neighbour who seeks investment returns is plain undemocratic.

Isn't that likely to reduce state revenue overall?

@abody499 - ideology & opinion cannot determine what resources to re-allocate to the 2.5 million - that's the point. With the NHS monolith imposing ideological micro-management we will never know if prioritising the 2.5 million just does more damage to the 50(?) million or was caused by the NHS in the first place.

@abody499 - That is the ideology of the unconstrained public health model - with no concern for the consequences - we're back to the starting point ... let the money flow.
