  1. Ok - but democracy is about shifting power to the many - parties are just special interest groups that developed from historical elitist factions. Fairly representing parties has very little correlation with democratic representation. If you cannot choose your own representative in a representative democracy - or even worse your vote is discarded because you didn't pick the local constituency FPTP winner then the system is just continuing fantasy aristocracy - which serves the elite political aristocrats the best. Keir, Richi, Liz, Theresa, Boris etc would never have held power in a real democracy.
