  1. Democracy is not empowerment of politicians. PR is just another party politics model that concentrates power in tiny self-serving factions - just like FPTP it's a system that permits a continuing aristocracy (admittedly with slightly less inheritance). Democracy IS shifting power from the few to the many - party politics is about limiting your choice. How can the vast range of preference amongst tens-of-millions be 'represented' by two or even ten political parties - who then trade their votes for party influence or status in a coalition that represents nobody but politicians?
