Inequality is a metric - the correlations are interesting but there is no evidence that managing economic inequality is possible or efficient. The nations with the highest wealth equality rankings are suspiciously similiar in culture so why don't we try and manage that? The economic policies that work universally from China down are all about freedom not application of central wisdom.

Our politicians have spent a couple of generations destroying higher education, apprenticeships and now they are flattening the school sector and providing ever more perverse'work' incentives. It's miraculous that the people of the UK are surviving at all but the answer is of course more one-size-fits-allgovernment .

@michaelmayo3127 - 'The equation that set the stage, for the French revolution, was inequality.' -- I thought it was liberty, fraternity and equality - but they weren't talking about wealth metrics. The analysis of the Scandis seems to be that they have frontier sharing tendencies - they don't need inequality theory - they just like ruthless wealth creation and sharing it around. The freedom is for everyone not just the self-righteous - making slaves of anyone is unacceptable. There is no evidence that centralised economic equality has a community benefit it is just ideology - believing is fine - enforcing it on others is tyranny.

@michaelmayo3127 - progressive taxes, complex taxation in general, discriminatory welfare provision (which the Scandis really resist) is all about centralising the management of wealth. Common sense would seem to suggest letting anybody who is highly productive do their stuff and then have simple fair taxes collect the community share - closer to the Scandi model. Central ideological distribution has been proven bonkers again & again.

@michaelmayo3127 - licensed fiat currency banking is another massive fraud mainly perpetuated by the ruling minority for their benefit (and the money men running the fraud) all part of the centralised wealth model - Marx was a fan I believe? In the Scandis (generally) you get state help with child care if you have children - benefits are universal. It's sensible beacuse it's pointless excluding 'rich people' from a benefit that they are funding and means politicians cannot use it to divide the electorate as our UK gangster parties love so much.
