If the BoE is wasting its time setting interest rates as inflation adjusts itself - how would the bureaucrats control employment? what mechanism would they use - interest rates? Isn't it likely that employment is also beyond their control?

@downshift4503 -- Bureaucracy inventing employment makes no more sense than setting interest rates by guesswork. History suggests that unemployment is created by rulers, you don't get unemployment without some type of ruling class disrupting society for their own interest -- monarchy or marxism it's always the same result - the people pay the bill.

The reason that there is no deflation after inflation in the modern era (20th century) is surely pretty obvious. Modern Inflation is mostly a function of politically controlled currency - and progressive politics does not wish to give-up magic money.
