  1. No. Sweden is clearly a western country when talking of the Gripen. The engine, ejection seat, electronics, gun and weapons are from foreign western countries, first one being the US. Futhermore, Sweden, as a neutral country, are very picky about the use of the military equipment they sell. They will be the first ones to stop delivery of spare parts if they think that their customer engages in an unrighteous war.
