  1. An attack on any NATO member would lead to retaliation. Conventional bombing, probably. Even if the missiles were to be british, or US, or from whatever NATO country is not enough reason to bomb these countries. During vietnam war, the US never bombed the USSR despite it supplying heavy weapons to the vietcong. Even in korean war, China was never bombed or attacked, even if it was directly involved in the fighting.
