Show that what is said in the interview is "nonsense" (one or two examples should be enough) and that make of the guy talking "a flack". "What is asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence". Do you remember?

It's not very easy seen from here eitherr (France)... and we are their neighbours and friends 😁 Though there are also prorussians generals and military experts here too. Including Gal De Gaulle grandson and a former french army chief of staff.

Col. Michel Goya estimate is that Russia had 1500 missiles in total at the beginning of the war. He says that 2 third have already been used. He does not cite his sources, so take it with a grain of salt. He is rconsidered as reliable and competent, though.

Basically for sentries, paired with a front helmet plate. It was supposed to withstand a standard rifle bullet. Not for the same purpose, I think.

In French army, short guys for tanks, fit and strong guys in the infantry (the machine gun was heavy…), slim guys in artillery (they can be trained to carry heavy rounds around, all muscles, no fat), smart guys in pioneers, radiocommunication, etc…

I read several Free French veterans memories, and they were generally happy with the tank. Protection was not the best, but adequate, the gun good enough in most cases, and the tank was "quick". They recon that German tanks had better guns and armour, but the Sherman was a match, compensating its limitations with some strong points.

Yes, battlefield taxi, though by replacing the gun with an heavy MG they can have a pretty decent support vehicule. A kind of "technical" Toyota with better protection and mobility. '

Wooden wheels are narrow and hard. This is ideal for horses, as wheels have a low resistance and load is easier to pull. For "higher" speeds, however, you need some flexibility to damp vibrations. Rubber tyres.

And, when someone is wrong, he is supposed to tell it, explain why he was wrong and amend his argument to the light of the events, not follow blindly his preconceived ideas and utter lies.

Milley openly said that this bloody war will end with negociations... with a "free, sovereign and independant Ukraine " https://youtu.be/hkYDNM_0ySE So, not at any cost, and he does not urge Ukraine to negociate, he is talking to Russia. He also stated that it will be very difficult for Ukraine to recover its territories militarily THIS YEAR. He never said that they will never do it. So Vad implying that Milley says that Ukraine should negociate now as there is no way they can win this war, is just a lie. Which is the same lie you'll find on prorussian channels. , (like McGregor, I suppose, i don't follow him : we have our own Kremlin voices in French telling the very same lies). Vad twists Milley declaration so he does not have to acknowledge the elephant in the room : russia does not want to negociate. Milley point is to convince russians that this war is costly and pointless, and that negociating now is the best solution, and this will be possible if they accept a free Ukraine.

And gun tubes. High velocity tank guns wear very quickly. It is worn out after 100/200 shots compared to an artillery tube which lifetime is ten times that. Meaning that if a tank shoots a few rounds everyday, it must be sent to the rear for tube replacement after a week or two.

That's called "trolling" I personnaly found it very interresting that some German top brass is siding with Russia, and desperately trying to voice his concerns even on some random feminist magazine rather than a peer reviewed, specialised one.

@stefanb6539 France position was different : France designs its own armement, it means it is not available in large quantities. And the old armement is scrapped when replaced, meaning we have no stock. We actually sent what we could. CAESAR are new guns, and VABs are old APCs. The first were taken direct from the army, the second is being replaced. but that's all what we have, unless we start reducing the size of our army. The other issue are the quantitive. Macron promised Leclerc tanks, but i doubt we'll be able to send more than 50 of them. And it will represent a quarter of our armed forces. That's far from enough. And france allowed other countries to send french made weapons, unlike Germany. The issue is that there are not many of them. Macran never uged ukraine to surrender, He asked both sides to negociate. But he fully applied all sanctions and never ban arm export. I think that there were some "good cop, bad cop" with Britsh PM beeing the hardliner and Macron trying to talk to Poutine. It did not work and now the game is over.

@lbb101 agreed. It is mostly politics who are against help to Ukraine, or tank delivery. Marine Le Pen (extreme right), for example, or few people among parties, more than generals. Most people, including retired generals (those in charge cannot speak), are for maximum help.

@jamesrowlands8971 prove that Russian sources are reliable first (didn't they declare recently they destroyed 4 Bradleys? They never shot down MH17? They will not invade Ukraine?) There is no such thing as "NATO aligned sources", there is only freedom of speech, critical examination of open source data. There is, however, russian propaganda, an alternate reality where all information is controlled by the state, desinformation relayed by paid trolls, and dissonant voices sent to prison or... thrown trhough the window. So, if your assertions are based on that, they can be discarded without further examination.

@kresbes7240 an archeologist is as qualified as anyone to discuss the matter, as long as he cites his sources and his reasoning is sound. And it is. And he gives is source, for the Emma magazine : see above.. So, you can assert whatever you want : "That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence."

It comes from western sources because there is no russian source for russian casualties and their figures for Ukrainians ones are doubtful, to say the least (according to official russian figures, they have destroyed the ukrainian army several times. See Bradleys)

I figured it out by myself, and it is not saying much. And Georg and Bernhardt agree on that, i would bet. So your point about that guy to be "an archeologist" is moot. You just want to make a point by using an "argument from authority" fallacy : the general is a general, Georg is just "an archeologist" . Sorry, it does not work like that

Vad being prorussian is a given If you disagree with this premise, you could have said it here, and give some reasoning and arguments. But you didn't. And even the lie direct from the Kremlin, that "Gal Milley called for negociations and said that ukraine cannot free its territories". So, yes following Russian narratives, their alternate reality, makes of you a prorussian.

@kresbes7240 what are you talking about? I gave you the link where Milley talks of negiciations. There was never any "leak". Milley says why Russians must negociate : they suffer tremendous losses. Remember this is not officially a war, for them, it is just some "police operation"... where they have lost thousands of tanks and tens of thousands of men. Plus the damage to their economy. They have already lost. Thsy simply don't understand it.

You may be right for moden tanks, which cannot be heavier than they are, but how do you fit AMX 30 and Léopard 1 in your classification with their paper thin armor?

Does not mean that the city center fell, just that LPR reached the city center. My feeling, anyway, is that ukrainians are pulling out of the city. It should fall in the next few days.

@jetfighter200 according to Igor Girkin, there are only rearguards in the city, most of the troups have already left in the last few days, starting with heavy equipment. And the Russians could do nothing about that, because of a lack of tanks and IFVs. He has been a somewhat reliable source, so far, so I tend to trust him on that. But nobody knows for sure. The question is, now : are the Russians strong enough to take Bakhmut and challenge Sloviansk and Kramatorsk?

@badlanz8642 agreed, but replace the gun with an heavy MG, maybe add some extra protection, and you have a decent, bulletproof support vehicule with good mobility. Still better than a van or, even, a Toyota "technical" many countries think are good enough.

Gal Vad says that Gal Milley recommended negociations and that the Ukraininas could not recover their territories. That's blatantly false. Gal Milley never talks of negociations. Because that's not in his responsibility: he is a soldier, not a politician. He nevers said that the Ukrainians cannot recover their territories. He said they could not do that in the short term. And Vad's talking points are just Moscow talking points. Dangerous escalation, Russian arrmy is too strong, better Red than dead (sorry, that last one is just irony) and so on. Vad is clearly relaying Kremlin's propaganda. No surprising he prefers to go for a random magazine rather than a "serious" one.

MG or20mm rounds could not penetrate turret top armour or glacis of German tanks. But I suspect some could penetrate engine deck, through the vent grid for example. This could not kill the tank, only break some parts, carburetor, fans... this was easy to fix, but the tank was disabled until mechanics arrive and replace damaged parts,.And for then, combat was over. Pity is that I could not find any evidence of my hypothesis ;-)
