  1. I read several Free French veterans memories, and they were generally happy with the tank. Protection was not the best, but adequate, the gun good enough in most cases, and the tank was "quick". They recon that German tanks had better guns and armour, but the Sherman was a match, compensating its limitations with some strong points.
