@epincion Just an update: Barcelona plant closing was delayed last August, maybe to account for Brexit. Furthermore, but that's only my feeling, I can't see any factory manufacturing cars for the UK market solely. Just in time supply chains are required and it will not be cost effective to import parts, or rely on a local supplier with limited capacity and no economy of scale. It did not work in Australia, Holden closed down, and UK will be better served by importing cheap cars from China, India, ... or any other block they will happen to have a deal with (Japan, Korea, USA...). all major manufacturers have already plants all over the world and they can export from any one of them if required.

@epincion homologation will cost the same price for an UK based factory. It will be cheaper for a manufacturer to adapt whatever they manufacture in one of their factories to UK market rather than manufacture it in the UK for local market, with no possibility to export it. At the moment, many cars imported in the EU are made in Japan or Korea and that's not an issue. MG imports cars from china, Toyota exports to the USA. Every manufacturer works worldwide now and has a range of bases and engines that comply with any local regulations.
