And there are large numbers of tanks in western countries inventories, specially the US. And Ukraine use hundred of thousands drones and destroys about 1200 tanks every year. So I can’t see your point, here.

Now, there are probably few of them left, and probably a shortage of missiles after two and a half years of war. The purpose of the F-16 is also to switch the UAF to Western aircrafts. There are probably no Soviet aircrafts available on the market the Ukrainians are familiar with. And the F-16 will be much better than what they have, with more capabilities. And comparing number of AA systems around the world is not fair : most western countries rely on their aircrafts for their defense. USSR could not do that, the West having better aircrafts, gaining air superiority was not possible. They focused on SAM systems as a compensation. And indépendant countries that follow the fall of the Soviet Union inherited that, having the doctrine and plenty of systems in service. Furthermore, Ukraine is the largest country in Europe, no wonder it inherited a large number of SAMs.

  83. Not true. For car spare parts, for exemple, russia is forced to buy through tier countries like Armenia or Belarus. Parts for manufacturing cannot be bought at all. Lada has no access to parts made in the West for their cars, for example. And it is worst for industrial machines, aircrafts... For russian companies, sourcing from russia is difficult or downright impossible.

  91. According to some Russian sources troops have been brought from other parts of the front, weakening their offensive. For the conscripts, they were supposed to hold the line, we don’t know if they are still there. « Special forces » are not supposed to fight in trenches.

  97. What is it about? Not ALL goods are under sanctions. Cars and spare parts ARE NOT. Russia imports through other countries because car manufacturers VOLUNTARILY ended exports to Russia and closed down their facilities there. But no law forces them to do that.

And, as long as nothing can replace the tanks on the battlefield, to take over its role, there will be tanks. And satellites are not some kind of magic trick. they, for example, cannot detect accurately tanks when there are clouds, or cover.

It shows to the Russian that they may not win this war, boost Ukrainian morale, deplete the forces that were attacking on other parts of the front and can be use for negotiations if they hold it. And nobody can think of any new « retaliation » other than what the Russians did so far.

Furthermore France and Germany made clear they would oppose Ukraine membership in NATO few years ago. Putin invaded nonetheless We would have better accepted them from the start. It would have deterred Putin.
