  1. I understand some industrial machines only run on older operating systems like Windows NT 3.5 or 4.0 because the manufacturer never updated their software on that particular machine. They'd rather you buy a completely new machine to get newer software to run on it. When new machines cost anywhere from $250,000 and up, and the older machines still work perfectly. It doesn't make sense to replace it. I still use Windows XP Pro to make MP3 CD's for my pickup truck using an old version of Nero.
