@ronnie5329 , you need to understand why gas is used for energy production in the EU and not only by industry. Gas is used in large scale for producing electricity in the EU with constant energy supply to the network. Renewable energy production is highly dependent on the weather (most the windmills and solar cells). That means the amount of energy that is transmitted to the network is highly volatile. That should cause jumping frequency in the electricity network - most of the electrical equipments would be broken. In other word, stable basic electricity production should go hand by hand with renewable one. The most optimal stable way to produce fossile free electricity is using nuclear plant. But gas power plants are also very good options with relatively low CO2 emission, specially compared with burning coal in power plants as now several EU countries want to do (for ex. Germany, The Netherland, Poland).

@saba1030 ,pal, that sounds wonderful you've written...but Germany as well as other EU countries must servive until that...otherwise the beutiful future plans are not worth anything. If you follow the news from Germany, the German gov. must give massive economic support for ex. to Uniper, the largest energy producer in Germany. Why? Because Uniper produces energy of gas and oil and they are/were on the edge of bankruptcy. Uniper has power plants in Franken, Irsching and Kirchmöser. And that is just Uniper in Germany. So, yes, for now there are gas power plants in Germany. And in the current situation try Germany to replace gas as much as they can with coal.

@19katherine1213 ,pal, you don't understand the whole geopolitical situation in Ukraine and why this conflict between West (mainly US and also EU) and Russia is, do you? Sure, that global power centra/US want to get Russia weaken/destroy. However, it is now obvious that the western/EU sanctions completely miscalculated: Russia still carries on the war, Russia earns more money selling less crude oil and gas than 2021, russian rubel is stronger than in 24/2 and the EU economy is in a huge self-inflicted crises.

@ronnie5329 , aha, you think that the EU can buy 155-170 biljon m3 LNG/per year? Why so much? Because Russia delivered last year so much nat. gas to the EU. Vice pres of Saudi-Aramco said that there is no chance to find as much free LNG volume on the market that could replace the gas from Russia. The US has delivered only less than 30 biljon m3 LNG this year and US said they could deliver max. 50 biljon m3/year. We not even talked about the price level which is 5-10 times higher = the EU industrial competitiveness will be destroyed. To build up all the necessary LNG terminals and pipelines will take 4-5 years and cost many biljon euros...if the EU will survive untill that. Stop pouring weapons and EU taxpayers money in to the terrible blackhole, the war in Ukraine - those just prolong the suffering and destruction in Ukraine as well as for us the economical and social disaster in the EU! Start peace negotioations with Russia how to solve all the economical and geopolitital conflicts.
