  1. I think you are talking about the epicanthic fold in the upper eye lid. Mostly found in people of East Asian decent but it is occasionally found in people from Northern Europe, like Scandinavia, UK and Ireland. The exact reason for why it exists is unknown, but it may have been a trait that protected the eye from strong winds or snow blindness in the past.
