  1. Too many unnecessary steps. Drain the trans when it's at ambient temp, measure the drained fluid, fill with the exact same amount and call it a day.

  4.  @luvingfully  This is basic 3rd grade science. It's just like filling any differential or simple gas engines. Fill until it overflows and "life is good".

  5.  @luvingfully  That's exactly what he did and that's another unnecessary step. Overfill at ambient temp, fluid level is adjusted at normal operating temp.

  6.  @JayTdub13  A little low fluid isn't going to affect the trans as so long the level is within specs. The overfill plug is the dipstick. This "fail safe" method is not necessary.
