  1. Same! I’ve seen raw mushrooms being served at salad bars and being sold in veggie platters. Evidently It’s not common knowledge that they need to be cooked. So idk how they could win the lawsuit if most ppl simply don’t know 🤷‍♀️

  2. OMG I had no idea that mushrooms even needed to be cooked! I’ve seen them on veggie platers completely raw, and have taken plenty of bites myself and never got sick. So I’m guessing the chefs may not have known that these particular mushrooms needed to be cooked a certain way, since plenty of them are served raw. How about ALL restaurants take a mandatory course in food safety and be well educated on this topic? Cuz again, I don’t think it’s common knowledge that mushrooms need to be cooked all the way, hence them being served completely raw sometimes.

  3. Although her death was extremely tragic, how the heck was the restaurant supposed to know about the mushrooms? Unless they picked them from their backyard or the forest, they most likely didn’t know that mushrooms had to be cooked a certain way. Mushrooms are often served 100% raw on veggie platters that u can buy at ur local market, so clearly it’s not common knowledge that they need to be cooked. I’m not sure how this could’ve been avoided, unless these were backyard mushrooms 🤷‍♀️

  5. How were they supposed to know that raw mushrooms are deadly, when they are literally being served 100% raw at most salad bars and also on veggie platters from local markets? Unless they picked these mushrooms from their backyard, I don’t see how they could’ve saw this coming 🤷‍♀️
