"This has caused much confusion within the general population regarding many important scientific subjects such as Origin of Life (OoL), Macro-evolution, and Micro-evolution which have tremendous social, political, and religious implications" - Not really. The confusion is caused, and intentionally, by religious propaganda especially coming from Evangelical Christians. They used to out right deny evolution. But more recently when they realised there is enough data to prove evolution they then came up with the "micro-evolution" vs "macro-evolution" bullshit.
