Floods, Covid & Ukraine war leading to commodity prices shooting up did break their back but they would have been in a better situation had they not build an economy that runs mainly on remittances, foreign aid and bailouts.

Indian API industry used to dominate in 2000s, before moving formulations. So, you need to understand the context before selling India short and making it sound as if Indian Pharma will be crippled if China doesn't give us APIs. I understand the basics of Economics very well & Technology " - I am someone working in tech as well and I graduated 13 years back. As far as economics is concerned I am sure Economist advising the India government have more experience than your friend.   19.  @zeus-no2hv  He is partially right. One needs to understand though that India can't consume all the byproducts that the refineries produce. The cheap oil that India buys, which comes at a geopolitical cost and needs a lot of maneuvering to be achieved, is NOT done so that private companies can profit from it. It' was done to keep inflation arising from supply side constraints low.

It's not just in the FTAs we have signed but also the mobility agreements we have signed with Germany, France etc and most recently with Austria. But we aren't doing it to get remittances as some people have suggested. Exporting people out just to get remittances is a bad idea anyway. We are exporting out talent because of different reasons which needs more time to explain and can't be done on youtube comments. Manufacturing and everything else that you are talking about are going to happen regardless of whether we export people or not. Exporting talent is not a problem.

If you don't understand the fundamental fact that you need to be able to "define" and "verify" something before you can apply a law, then you are stupider than you think you are. I am sure you believe you are an India Citizen. How do you prove that you are one? .. How does anyone prove that he/she is an India citizen? .. What's the process?
