@TheGreatVivek7 The joke is that people think Bangaldesh having a higher per capita GDP than India is somehow a poor reflection on India's economic performance. It's not. Such people have no clue of how economics works and have zero idea of economic histories of any country.

@curio78 "such a move is just a response to that irrationality." - Such a move is a MAD response to anything. And justifying it will make it into tales of legendary madness. One has to be bit by a dog with rabies to think this is a "just" move. On the otherhand, me and many like me pay most amount of taxes and get nothing in return. Shameless politicians like Siddharamaya and Shiv Kumar use the taxes I pay to fund their freebie politics to come to power. It's also important to ask how much tax does Karnataka State take from Bangalore and how much of it comes back to Bangalore? .. If everyone starts applying your MAD logic to justify their actions, what will that lead to?

Then you wrote a huge comment further proving it and giving multiple examples that show you don't know much of anything.
