@ezhilarasinanda5750 Taxes on Fuel are levied both by Central and State Govts. State Govts. charge close to 40 Rs from the fuel prices that people pay. All center can do is reduce the taxes it charges which won't make much of a difference. So, if it's about taxes maybe you should talk to your State's Ministers rather than the Central Aviation minister. "Increase in fuel prices cause inflation" is superficial statement which makes for great political rhetoric but nothing more than that. Inflation happens because of multiple reasons. If you try to find out the change in cost of Coffee, Edible Oil, Steel (and other metals), sugar and even Pharma APIs like paracetamol you will find every commodity price has increased drastically. That has happened because of supply chain disruptions and NOT because of "exorbitant taxes". That's just a perception that opposition loves to create, thanks to limited understanding of Indian Citizens. Crude is a commodity that India buys from outside. Govt. can't control it's prices. And if citizens cry about fuel prices then govt. reduces it but then raises Oil bonds to fund the deficit which are also paid by the citizens.

Petrol is a commodity. Commodity prices fluctuates as per supply-demand. I really don't understand why citizens expect Govt. to control/reduce petrol prices. Could you expand what "wrong policies" did govt. implement and suggest what would be a right policy??

@ezhilarasinanda5750 If you want to be fair, then tell me how can Indian govt. (irrespective of who is in power) pay for what citizens expect of it (roads, vaccines, military, education and health), when govt. is already running a fiscal deficit?? ... The only two options are printing more money (which is inflationary) or collect more taxes (which will cause inflation for consumables but also affect demand generation). Those are the only two options, since govt. doesn't want to borrow from outside. Pick your poison.
