@SurajSingh-nf6ic Guess what, I got cheap internet and a degree in Economics. So, you can go ahead believe whatever you want "looking at India's growth in 2018 & 19", it wouldn't mean much to me. I don't make economic predictions based on past data. That the stupid way of doing it. And I don't know which moron taught you math, but a simple calculation would tell you that 7% compounded real growth over the current size of Indian Economy would make it a 21 Trillion USD economy. China is 14 Trillion today. If you are making a point, at least get you math right.

Since then India has been waiting for a second set of economic reforms, for 30 years. "a revolutionary act like RTI and FOOD SECURITY ACT " - They had to bring in RTI to show that they are transparent after having been marred in various scams like Spectrum, Coal gate, National Herald. And Food Security Act was an act making is easier for govts. to do what they were already doing i.e. giving out handouts in exchange for votes. Don't make it seem as if the govt. in power had to fight long political battles to get these passed and that these acts did much for India. Usually, used by people who have exclusively worked/studied in India or people who have exclusively worked outside India, in any one specific country. "We talk a lot, listen less." - That's probably true. But this isn't a problem. The major issue keeping India behind is Economics and the politics which can enable that. Also, please don't compare India with homogeneous countries with much smaller population and different govt. structure. The complexity and scale of India's governance is at another level. Nothing comes even close.

You can focus on whatever you like, as for me Bangladesh's Economy isn't even in the same league as India. @email4ady I agree, Govt. should have tried to convince them by offering them some incentive. But make no mistake, this protest would have happened regardless cause the reform threatens huge organised vested interest. It's close to impossible to convince a priest that God doesn't exist. Why?.. Cause the Priest's job depends on God's existence. :-)

Higher Interest rates on instruments which carry no risk are like sugar, tastes sweet in the short run, makes you diabetic and kills you in the long run. And who do you think funds the higher interest rates? .. Another section of people (who also make the economy).
