Luck. Looking at that out of control white hot perchlorate burn, they were damned lucky it didn't burn through to something critical and blow the whole works up. I am cautiously pleased the software and hardware was able to compensate for the SRB burn through. They're lucky it wasn't a complete balls-out performance flight that needed every ounce of SRB performance and every drop of fuel to be burned. They happened, by luck, to have it fail within the performance curve that could be recovered from. It'll be entertaining to watch the FAA try to cope with this.
